Have you ever observed someone sketching and wish you could do that? Well, you can! Join me in this immersive workshop as I guide you through the art of sketching. Using simple paper folding to create quick discreet sketchbooks, this workshop also enables you to experiment with a diverse range of materials. With my expert guidance, you’ll gain the skills and confidence needed to embark on this fun, fulfilling artistic journey. The day covers some basic skills and then works on gaining experience and building confidence to put sketching into practice both in a gallery/cafe setting, the Willow Gallery and then stepping outside to sketch locally along the town centre streets of Oswestry. Sketching is a wonderful way to capture the essence of your life, surroundings, or explore a specific theme.
Emma brings a selection of sketchbooks to browse for ideas and appreciate the variety of options available. Currently she is making her own palm sized books from selected cartridge papers to work discretely in the landscape and urban areas. They fit comfortably into pockets for easy access when the interesting and inspirational moment arrives. We will also discuss and address some of the fears of sketching in public, to help you feel more confident and comfortable in your practice.
