Sketching day with Emma-Jayne Holmes
10.30am-4pm
18+
Spend a day exploring various drawing techniques with local artist Emma-Jayne Holmes. During this workshop you will use the Ruthin Clocktower as inspiration and focus.
This is an ideal workshop for those who would like to get more comfortable with sketching, and can be for beginners or those more advanced.
During the morning we will make a simple folded and easy to use palm sized sketchbook, ideal for out in the field sketching.
Then, using a range of drawing tools Emma will guide you through a series of activities to assist you in looking and recording the world around you. There is a large emphasis on having fun and experimenting, as we find ways of depicting and visually recording the Clocktower.
Emma-Jayne Holmes is a passionate artist with a keen eye for capturing the essence of life and her surroundings. Her still-life studies taught her the art of keen observation, while her landscape work deepened her appreciation for the beauty of nature’s seasons, cycles, and renewal. Emma-Jayne’s depictions of volunteers, musicians, and community members reflect her gratitude and philosophical musings on the human experience.
